Breaking News!! Central Texas ~ Strange sounds and water falling from the skies.

(KTOR-Central Texas) People were awakened from a sound sleep this morning around 2:00 am to the sounds of what many had not heard in months.  Thunder!  Soon after it was followed by the wet stuff falling from the sky.  Many jumped on Facebook and started sending around email about the event.  "What is that?" many asked.

It was reported (unconfirmed and no photographs) that many were seen dancing in the streets with nothing on but their nightclothes...some completely nude, running outside to see the event forgetting what they were or were not wearing.  It could go down as the largest wet tee shirt contest in recent memory.  Others just calmly sat in the swing on their porch and watched in the early morning hours.

At this writing the thunder is booming and rain is falling here in New Braunfels.  Thank God, our prayers have been answered! ...and I guess the rain dance helped a bit too.  Hope you're getting a good drenching where ever you may be, keep it comin'!

UPDATE:  According to sources, it's still raining as of 7:00 AM CDT... including the metropolis of Pflugerville just outside Austin.  The hog colony in Pleasanton seems to be pleased with the event as well.  We'll keep you posted as the day progresses here in beautiful Central Texas.  A word of warning to residents; Be sure your mower is in working condition. It's also been noted that Central Texas drivers have a difficult time on the roads after a long period without rain, so be safe out there and keep an eye on the other guy. ~KTOR News.
...unfortunately, this may be the only fireworks we see this year.  But welcome rain indeed!
